2023 Staff of the Year Awards

On January 18, 2024 Middlebury Regional EMS hosted our annual holiday party to honor our hardworking staff. Every January we take the opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate our team’s dedication and professionalism in serving the community over past year and recognize those who have gone above and beyond in their roles.

Below are the following staff members who who were voted to be the “provider of the year” in their specific role.

  • VEFR Reid Lumbra

  • EMTs: Scott Loftus, Mary Miller

  • AEMT: Peter Ochs

  • Paramedic: Walker Randall

  • Students: Olivia Fulghum, Sophie Levine

  • Heavy Rescue : Matt Booska

  • Dispatcher: Matt Abare

Additionally we always recognize those who have responded to and dispatched the most calls for our agency. They include:

  • Most Calls Dispatched: Maria Bedell

  • Most Calls Responded:

    • Place Peter Ochs, 713 Calls

    • Mary Miller, 675 Calls

    • Walker Randall, 640 Calls

Each year MREMS recognizes one staff member whose dedication to our organization matches that of one of our most storied members, Ed Sullivan (1945-2016) and bestow upon them the Ed Sullivan Award. 2023’s award was presented to Paramedic, Walker Randall for his willingness to take on any challenge and dedication to service through MREMS.
